- Foundations Week
Requirements:
To receive a “pass” in the Primary Care College Foundations Week block, students are required to attend all of the week’s scheduled sessions. Students must sign-in at each session. Any planned absences must be approved in advance by the Course Chair. Students will be responsible for making up missed sessions.
- Dinner Seminar Series
Requirements:
To receive a “pass” in the Primary Care College Dinner Seminar Series, students are required to attend six (6) of the Dinner Seminars offered throughout the year. Students must sign-in and complete an evaluation to receive credit for each seminar.
- Community Service
Requirements:
To receive a “pass” in the Primary Care College, students must participate in a Community Service project that may consist of clinical work, teaching (doctoring 4 or PBL), or community-based research. The project must be approved in advance by the College Chair and must consist of at least 6 half days (or 3 full days) of work, to be verified by the project Mentor/Advisor. Clinical experiences are offered at sites throughout the Los Angeles area.
- Research or Scholarly Project
Requirements:
To receive a “pass” in the Primary Care College, students must complete and present a scholarly project or research endeavor in a public forum. While not required, it is encouraged that students link this project with their Community Service activity. Students will present their work at Scholarship Day. Project topics must be submitted to the Course Chair for approval by October 1.
- Electives & Course Requirements
The course requirements for the Primary Care College are satisfied by the general 4th year requirements for David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. In accordance with 2005 MEC recommendations, 4th year students are strongly encouraged to take a senior Radiology elective.
