Congratulations Class of 2012 on your outstanding Match Results! Given the uncertainty of SOAP process (formerly the scramble) students were counseled to apply, interview, and rank more programs than usual—it paid off! We had our lowest number of unmatched students ever. In fact, 95% of US Seniors matched to residency positions this year—the highest in 30 years!

Students who intend to apply in the 2013 will be working with Residency Application Advisor, Jason Bergschneider. All others will continue to work with the advisors in our Career Advising and Well-Being Program.
Match Week Festivities at DGSOM
Senior Scholarship Day
The culmination of the College experience (and one of the final requirements to graduate) is Scholarship Day. Dr. Sarika Thakur oversees this event and works with seniors and the College Chairs (along with Aurora Reyes in the SAO) throughout the year in preparation. Each year, a few exceptional senior projects are selected for to present at the Oral Plenary Session. The following seniors earned that honor this year…. Stephanie Histed, Christina Metzler, Vanessa Munoz, Jessica Rexach, and Manpreet Singh. Congratulations!
All School Talent Show
The Class of 2015 hosted “A Night at the OSCE’s” on Thursday to a packed house! The All School Talent Show (aka the night before Match Day) closed the seniors’ rendition of “I’ve Had the Time of My Life.” The UCLA Daily Bruin featured MSIV Josh Elder and MSI Vice-President and event organizer, Christine Thang’s perspectives on this annual tradition.
Match Day Celebration
At 9:00AM envelopes are opened across the nation revealing where each senior will puruse their residency training. This year, a group of seniors (along with the SAO Staff and Dr. Parker!) surprised guests with a match day flash mob before the envelopes were opened. UCLA Today featured DGSOM’s flash mob.
