Y ou are guaranteed housing for your first two years of medical school at UCLA provided you take advantage of it in Year 1. Please review the information below carefully for details about housing on the UCLA campus.

Please note: You must take advantage of housing Year 1 to be guaranteed housing for Year 2.

Housing Options

Option 1.
Single Student Housing Weyburn Terrace:
90% of incoming Year 1 and Year 2 students choose to live at Weyburn Terrace. This wonderful location provides a great way to bond with your classmates and live close to the medical campus at an affordable rate. Weyburn Terrace, UCLA’s newest apartment complex, is available to full-time, single graduate students. This 840-unit complex contains studio apartments, two-bedroom/two-bath apartments, and two-bedroom/two-bath townhouses.  The studio apartments house one person, the two-bedroom apartments and townhouses house a maximum of two people.

Option 2.
Married/family Housing:
Apartment Options for Married Students, Students with Same-Sex Domestic Partners, and Single-Parent Students
Apartments are in high demand, so apply early if you have a family. One-bedroom/one-bath and two-bedroom/one-bath apartments are available to couples without children. Most two-bedroom/two-bathroom units are for single parents or couples with children. Three-bedroom units are available to applicants with three or more children or two elementary school-age children of the opposite sex.
To complete the application process, family students must submit all required documents, i.e., marriage certificate, California Declaration of Domestic Partnership (CDDP), and/or children's birth certificate's), and must pay the non-refundable $30 application fee.

Acceptance of Housing Offers

NOTE: A completed application and a non-refundable $30 fee must be submitted prior to assignment.

When a housing offer is available online, you have 10 to 12 days to accept the offer and pay online or return the necessary payment. Payments must be completed online by the stated deadline in the Housing Offer. Otherwise, the offer will be canceled and the space reassigned to another student.

If you are away from your permanent address, remember to check online or your email for messages regarding your housing offer. All students who are offered housing — including those students who are eligible to receive financial aid — are required to make an initial housing payment by the stated deadline.

Students with Disabilities

Roommates

You are welcome to submit on your housing application the name of someone you want to room with. The Housing Office will attempt to accommodate requests. Otherwise, medical students are paired with other medical or law students for roommates.

Pets

No pets are allowed at any of the On-Campus Housing sites

Parking

Students who live at Weyburn Terrace will be issued a parking permit for Weyburn Terrace. Weyburn is within walking distance to the UCLA Medical Campus so no campus parking permits will be issued to residents there. Students who do not take advantage of UCLA Graduate Housing are eligible for campus parking permits.
