Description
Do you use credit wisely? Credit is meant to be a tool not a crutch! This session is intended to help students begin to think about their use of credit and to use credit wisely. A dynamic speaker from Consumer Credit Counseling will present information on how to establish good credit or reestablish good credit, help students understand their current debt situation, design a debt reduction plan that will work, and make good buying decisions.
Learning Objectives
- To understand that the future is uncertain (I.e. there is risk), thus, you should be careful in your use of credit.
- To understand the priciples of credit (I.e. installment vs. revolving credit, secured vs. unsecured debt).
- To understand what constitutes bad credit, and to realize the importance of having good credit and how to maintain it.
- To be able to manage your existing debt at all times.
- To understand how much access you should have to credit
- To understand the time value of money, interest rates and the differences between simple and compound interest.
- To know how to shop for credit cards.
