Longitudinal Radiology Clerkship Course Description

(RA 001)

The radiology clerkship is offered only at CHS and consists of longitudinal teaching distributed throughout the year.  The fundamentals of radiology will be taught in the Clinical Principles, while focused radiology pertinent to specific specialties for example medicine, surgery, women and children's health will be taught during their introductory blocks.  Review of normal anatomy on common imaging studies and description, analysis and diagnosis of abnormal radiological finding will be presented.  The material will be taught by didactic lecture series, interactive sessions, and problem-based teaching cases.  A list of recommended readings will be provided.  An examination will be given at the end of the third year.  Students will evaluate the course and receive evaluations on their individual performance.  There is no on-call schedule or weekend call. 

Letters of distinction are not given in Radiology because of the limited contact of faculty with students.
