The David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA encourages students to participate in school activities as class officers and representatives of organizations and committees. It is important to broaden one's medical education with extracurricular experiences. However, these should not be carried out at the expense of studying and learning medicine and students are expected to maintain priorities consistent with the goals of medical excellence.
