Effective Summer 2001 beginning with the class of 2003, 3rd and 4th year students were required to have a PDA - Personal Digital Assistant or handheld computing device - for two primary reasons: to enable "point of contact" access to information resources; and to prepare students for practicing medicine in the 21st century.
