The People Helping People
Organization
is dedicated to the
following goals:
- To research,
organize, and encourage participation in clinical volunteer opportunites in and around
Southern California for UCLA medical students.
- To find projects
which will offer the best clinical experience for medical students of different classes,
as well as projects which are fun and adventurous.
- To organize
projects at clinics and shelters where health care is the most needed, where funds and
personnel are scarce, and where the administration will be enthusiatic and cooperative.
- To work in full
conjunction and cooperation with other UCLA medical student groups, such as SNMA and CMSA,
so that with our combined abilities, we will be able to have projects which will help
hundreds of people who are unable to afford health care.
- Finally, and most
importantly, to remember that we, as medical students, came in to this profession as
"people" who wanted to "help other people." Now, we are
here, and it is time.
