PDA Required Software
The PDA Requirement Committee has identified various software programs available in each category.

Phamacopeias Medical Calculators Document Readers Security

Pharmacopeias (Required - Select One)
The primary elements to look for in a "PDA Drug Companion" are: drug name lookup, class lookup, dosages, costs, drug interactions, drug mechanisms, and program updateability at time of routine synchronization. ePocrates contains all of these elements and is free.
ePocrates Rx     FREE
Peer-reviewed drug information including off-label indications and formularies in an easy to use format. Includes over 2800 drug monographs and the ability to check up to 30 different drugs for potential interacations. Also allows user to look up adult/peds dosing, contraindications/cautions, drug interactions, adverse reactions, Mfr/cost information and other information (i.e. pregnancy, lactation and mechanism of action). Drug database is updated daily. Memory requirement: 3.0 MB (3,000K) minimum + 10K per formulary selected. OS requirement: PalmĀ® OS v3.1 or higher.

ePocrates Pro    $59.99/yr
Peer-reviewed information on over 2800 drugs including off-label indications and formularies in an easy to use format. To keep patient data that you store on your PDA secure, use this free program that allows you to set a password on the PDA that activates at any interval that you set (e.g., every 24-hours, to every 4-hours).
