Mausam Damani
Mausam Damani is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, holding dual degrees in Molecular & Cell Biology and Public Health. Throughout her undergraduate career she explored her interests in medicine, the biological sciences and public health by volunteering as a science and health teacher in the Oakland school system, writing and editing for a campus science journal, and playing with brain slices in a neuroscience laboratory, amongst other things. Her free time is spent watching foreign films, trying new recipes on her unsuspecting family and dreaming about the exotic vacations she will one day take.

Dina Farshidi

Dina Farshidi
Dina is originally from Southern California and graduated from UCLA in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. As an undergraduate, her experiences volunteering in free health clinics informed her interests in both healthcare delivery systems and health policy. After her first year of medical school, Dina completed the UCLA Medical Administration Summer Fellowship, which offered a glimpse of the manifold challenges we face in healthcare today. Looking forward, Dina hopes to continue exploring her interests in both medicine and health economics, and ultimately bridge the two. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling, gelato, and spending time with family and friends.


Nevine Hanna, MPH

Nevine Hanna
Nevine comes from a multi-faceted educational and professional background in science, policy, humanities, and management. After graduating from UCI, Nevine decided to indulge in-depth in her research projects, where she worked full-time during the week and pursued her Executive Masters in Public Health in Healthcare Management and Policy at UCLA. Upon her graduation, she decided to work in consulting in the Health Industries Advisory at PricewaterhouseCoopers. There, she managed to alter and improve upon healthcare and clinical research systems changes across the county. Through the health care symposium, Nevine hopes to allow others the opportunity to partake in her very enjoyable experience in learning about the most important issues facing healthcare policy today. She hopes to empower each person to make a difference, on either a personal or wide-scale level, when they embark upon their careers in the future.


Nicole Khadavi

Nicole Khadavi
Nicole Khadavi graduated from UCLA in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in Neuroscience and a minor in Spanish. As an undergraduate, her research and community service involvement focused on the underserved populations of Los Angeles. This included extensive dedication to the patients at the Los Angeles Free Clinic, the founding of a community service organization on campus, as well as keloid and cancer cell research. She is happy to continue her education at UCLA as a medical student where she plans to strengthen her commitment to these endeavors while exploring areas of interest including women's health and health policy. Nicole also enjoys oil painting, travel and athletics and hopes that through medicine, she can combine the adventure and creativity of her hobbies into her career.


Andrew Nguyen

Andrew Nguyen
Andrew Nguyen was born and raised in the San Francisco-Bay Area. Interested in mathematical theory and structure, he attended UCLA and graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. For his outstanding undergraduate work, he received Departmental Honors. He was also a recipient of the Daus Prize, an award given to exemplary undergraduate mathematics students. Andrew greatly enjoys teaching and tutoring others, and has participated as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant. He also has a variety of interests including aerospace, information technology, working with the underserved and healthcare economics. He hopes to obtain a MPH and combine his interests into a career that includes academic medicine and international medical missions.


David Shamouelian

David Shamouelian
David graduated from UCLA in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychobiology. He has been involved in various clinical and basic science research programs throughout his undergraduate and graduate years. David is grateful to have the opportunity to develop as a physician under the talented clinicians and scientists of the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. In his free time, David enjoys spending time with family and friends, and is an avid follower of the local sports scene. He looks forward to his journey through the dynamic field of medicine.
